Motorcycle Cake - Homemade Birthday Cake

Is anybody's birthday coming?   Here I will introduce how to do a special birthday cake for your friend.
My friend likes motorcycle very much. I want to make a homemade motorcycle cake for him.
Steps:
1. Print a picture, cut it out and put it up on the cake as a template for cutting the cake and just a coffee cup for the wheels.
2. The body of the bike is yellow cake.  The wheels are chocolate cake. Both were just box mixes baked in 9x13 pans.
3. For the frosting you can prepared tubs. I used a lot of food coloring (blue, green, red) to get the grayish color for the engine. You can use M&Ms to trace around the blue just for fun. The details make it: used M&Ms for headlights, tail lights and exhaust.
4. Use chocolate frosting and sprinkles for the dirt, spraying out the back.
5. Put the candles on the back part of the cake so it looked like it was flame coming out of the exhaust when the candles were lit.
It is a homemade birthday cake.  Also, I wish your friends will like it.

Bi-Rite Creamery - Organic Ice Cream

Bi-Rite Creamery is committed to creating ice cream in a responsible and sustainable manner. They are proud to be the first ice cream shop in San Francisco to use Straus Family Farms organic dairy to create their ice cream. They strive to create unique and exciting flavors that are made with local, organic or sustainable products.
Bi-Rite Market
Their Coffee Toffee ice cream is made with coffee from their local Ritual Coffee Roasters and almond toffee that they make here in their shop. They Honey Lavender is created with organic dried lavender and honey that is gathered in Sonoma especially for them, less than 40 miles away. Their Rocky Road is made with house made marshmallows and house made chocolate covered almonds. Their Roasted Banana is created by roasting organic bananas with brown sugar until tender and caramelized.
All of the granitas, sorbets and popsicles they make are made from fruits that are sourced from local organic farms and orchards. Their concord grape granita and popsicles are made from grapes grown on their own farm in Sonoma.
Not only do they care deeply about their ingredients, they also care about the impact they have on their environment. They use cups and spoons that are biodegradable, their sugar cones are made from organic ingredients, and they source their ingredients as locally as they can. Doris Sweet Journey Podcast - Garlic Ice Cream

The Stinking Rose - Garlic Ice Cream

The Stinking Rose
Do you like garlic?  It is good for our health as we all know.  We cook it in many ways.  Have you ever thought about if it is added into ice cream, what the kind of taste the ice cream will be?

Garlic ice cream is served in a restaurant called “The Stinking Rose”.  In this restaurant, all the dishes are made with garlic.  They get the garlic from Gilroy - garlic capital of the world.  If you have allergy to garlic, you might not want to go there.

Garlic ice cream does not have too much garlic in it.  At the beginning, you seems like have a vanilla ice cream.  If you taste for a while, you can taste a little bit garlic, just a little bit. Over all, it is taste good.

However, you might not want to have too much food with garlic.  I had a slide of baked bread with garlic sauce and a little chicken meat with garlic, about 2-3 cloves garlic.  Then I had a big ball of garlic ice cream.  A few hours later, I felt dizzy.  I am sure I do not have allergy to garlic.  Maybe I had a little too much in one time.  So I recommend you try a little garlic ice cream at first time.  If you feel good, you can have more next time.

I hope you will enjoy GARLIC ICE CREAM.

37 Degrees Dessert Cafe - Small but Cost more

In the following two posts, I will tell you two places which are not good enough!  If you still want to have a try, you can go there.
37 Degrees Dessert Cafe is place to have desserts in Sunset.  It opens until midnight everyday.  Usually from 11pm to 1am, there are still a lot of people.
I went there several times, but no seat for me.  I thought it should be great, thus so many young people are there every night.  Final, I went there the right day.  But....I disappointed.  Maybe there are few cafes closed at 1am, so people choose to go there, not because they have really good desserts!

"Chocolate Mousse" This is a half of strawberry.  You can see, it is not fresh.  Also, mousse is very small.

        "Curry Fishballs"

"Bird's Nest with Coconut"  It services not as much as Creation Dessert House.  And it is over sweet. It costs $12, more expensive than what Creation Dessert House costs.

“Pork Chop”  It is so salted.

        Small chicken wings

100% Sweet Cafe - Sweet Place

100 Sweet Cafe is a Hong Kong sweet cafe.  Many yong people come here to chat with friends.
This cafe is not very big, but a lot of customers.  If you come late at meal time, you will be waiting in a long line.

        “Milk Tea Pudding”
I recommend this one.  It is a little sweet.  The taste is between pudding and mousse.

This is one page of the menu.  They have many different kinds of desserts.  All  of them look like delicious.

        "Mocha with ....."
I do not like this one.

        “Mango GiGi with tadpoles”
Mango is very fresh.  Tadpoles is not real.  It is a kind of jello.  It is interesting to try these tadpoles.

Also, if you are hungry, they have some dishes for you.

Smitten Ice Cream - Liquid Nitrogen ice cream

It all began with a Radio Flyer wagon, an innovative hand-welded machine, and an abiding love for ice cream….
In the pursuit of creating better ice cream, Robyn Sue Goldman spent two years developing a one-of-a-kind ice cream machine, now named “Kelvin.” Kelvin’s uniqueness stems from its ability to make the smoothest, tastiest ice cream from scratch in 60 seconds. How? Kelvin runs on liquid nitrogen.
Smitten Ice Cream was born in late 2009 when Robyn Sue hit the streets of San Francisco with an apron and a dream, pulling Kelvin atop a souped-up Radio Flyer wagon (complete with off-road wheels and a homemade battery pack).  Since then, Robyn Sue has teamed up with pastry chef Robyn Lyn Lenzi and chef and lawyer Andrew Shaw. They’re all united by the Smitten mission: to make each and every truly decadent scoop to order, using only the freshest, purest, locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. One minute, it’s milk, cream, sugar, and caramelized peaches; the next minute, it’s the smoothest, most flavorful peach ice cream you can imagine.

Over its first year, Smitten’s artisan ice cream and magic captivated foodie audiences at Bay Area festivals, corporate shindigs, and high-end events—garnering rave reviews and delighted bellies everywhere they went. Now, Smitten has parked its wagon in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley and transformed a recycled shipping container into an ice cream shop like you’ve never seen before.

Banana Island - Fried Ice Cream

Banana Island began when their owners had a vision of running a restaurant, which would serve authentic Asian cuisine made only from the highest quality ingredients.  Since then, Banana Island was born appealing to fans of Asian cuisine all over the bay area.
Set a tropical and comfortable atmosphere, Banana Island is sure to take you back to the lands of Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.  You will be greeted and served by their warm and friendly staff, which adds to the comfort of the atmosphere.

I ordered Fried Ice Cream as dessert.

When I cut it into two pieces, ice cream inside was still very hard.  It was not melting.  Flavor is like vanilla mixed with coconut.

Also, they have many other desserts, Ice Kacang, Coconut Pudding and so on.
